Germany sending refugees to Nazi concentration camps
On January 27, the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Nazi death camp Auschwitz, the German city of Augsburg decided to turn a branch of the former concentration camp at Dachau into a refugee centre. The asylum seekers will live in a building where thousands of slave labourers suffered and died under the Nazis.
Dachau is not the only concentration camp being turned into a refugee centre in Germany. In the middle of January, the German city of Schwerte started to move asylum-seekers into Buchenwald.
French police question boy, 8, after remarks on Paris attacks
Police in the French city of Nice questioned an 8-year-old boy who allegedly made comments in school defending the terrorists who killed 17 people in Paris last month.
He first aroused attention at his school after refusing to observe the minute of silence honouring the victims of the Paris attacks, Fabienne Lewandowski, deputy director of security in Alpes-Maritimes department, said.
Lewandowski alleged the boy later lashed out at the journalists of Charlie Hebdo telling a schoolteacher: “We must kill the French. I am with the terrorists. Muslims have done well. The journalists deserved to die.”
