Why

In the evening, on June 24, 1978 the police brutally assaulted the 'gay and lesbian' (as it was called then) parade at Kings Cross, at the El Alamein Fountain.

Tickets available from Trybooking.

What led to vicious police brutality against the LGBTIQA+ movement on June 24, 1978? How did the movement respond? What lessons can we draw for todays campaigns for trans-rights and against war and for international solidarity?

Hear from 78er Mark Gillespie and others, plus others, about the last 50 years of rebel history in the Kings Cross area, the LGBTIQA+ community and the civil rights movement.

Join rebel 78ers to find out the real history of Mardi Gras.

The walk will be on flat paths and slight hills, but nothing extreme sport-like. It will take two hours. Various ticket prices from $5 upwards. Monies going to Green Left and Pride In Protest. All welcome.

Organised by Green Left and Pride In Protest.

Tickets available from Trybooking.
