Perth homeless rights protest

April 6, 2011
Issue

Action outside state parliament called by homeless people of WA, in particular Corey Wilkinson a homeless man who has tried repeatedly to speak to Troy Buswell the housing minster, even chaining himself outside his office and Buswell is refusing to meet with him and any other homeless people.

The rally is demanding more public housing, housing is a right not a privilege. An apology from police minister Rob Johnson for his disgraceful comments towards the homeless, the resignation of Troy Buswell the housing minister who will not even listen to the stories of people living on the streets and and asking the question if the government can find accommodation for homeless people over the period of chogm (as well as spending millions on taking care of the rich who are coming for chogm) why can't it find suitable places to live for the homeless all year round?
