United Rally: Free All Refugees! Close Every Detention Centre!

Where

Park Hotel, 701 Swanston St
Carlton VIC 3053
Australia

Why

Sixty men are trapped in the Park hotel in Carlton. Their "crime" was being refugees, seeking asylum in Australia. Hundreds more remain languishing in Villawood, Kangaroo Point, Manus, Nauru, and other facilities. Their detention is a barbaric, inhumane abuse of human rights, a crime against humanity committed by the Australian government.

The Campaign Against Racism & Fascism protested the removal of the refugees from the Mantra hotel to the Park hotel, and has organised several protests since. Along with Northside Youth With Refugees and a range of other community groups, we are have initiated a joint rally to free these men. We call on all anti-racists to attend this rally, to demand the release of the Park refugees and all other refugees detained by the barbarous Australian government.

This will be a COVID-safe event. All attendees should bring masks and socially distance.
