British musician and activist Roger Waters has called on people to act against the ongoing United States coup against the elected Venezuelan government. Waters specifically urged people to join the February 4 “emergency demonstration” in front of the US Mission to the United Nations (USUN) located in New York City.
TeleSUR English reported that Waters tweeted his call for people to join the march, organised by the December 12 Movement, to stop the economic coup in process and the possible US military intervention in Venezuela on the part of the US and its anti-Venezuela allies.
“THIS IS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,” tweeted the famed former Pink Floyd musician on his Twitter account, referring to the protest.
In all caps, Waters wrote: “STOP THIS LATEST USG [United States government]INSANITY, LEAVE THE VENEZUELAN PEOPLE ALONE. THEY HAVE A REAL DEMOCRACY, STOP TRYING TO DESTROY IT SO THE 1% CAN PLUNDER THEIR OIL. US HANDS OFF #VENEZUELA!”
