Marrickville residents living in existing affordable apartments are being threatened with eviction from their homes.
In Warren Rd, the landlord wants to demolish an historic building to build expensive apartments local residents won’t be able to afford to live in.
Developments like this make housing even less affordable and puts current tenants — young and old — in crisis.
On August 24 a Final Hearing will adjudicate the social, environmental and economic impacts of the demolition plan.
Residents need your support! Join us at the hearing on the corner of Illawarra Rd and Warren Rd at 9am and help us save our homes.
We demand that governments at all levels help people facing housing insecurity by reforming policies that give hand-outs to greedy developers, protecting existing low-cost housing and tenants, and building genuinely affordable Public Housing.
