Queensland Parliament

Why

It has now been over two months since submissions closed on protections for the Channel Country rivers of Queensland's Lake Eyre Basin, and the Queensland government is due to make its final decision before the end of the year. That makes right now a critical time to put the pressure on the government and make sure the Channel Country gets the full, lasting protection it deserves.

It will take ALL OF US to keep the pressure on the government and ensure they DO NOT CAVE to the lobbying of the gas industry.

Come and rally outside Parliament house to tell the Premier that we are tired of waiting and we need these critical protections for the Channel Country NOW!

The Channel Country holds extraordinary cultural and ecological significance and the impacts of fracking in this unique ecosystem are unacceptable, using billions of litres of precious water, and building thousands of gas wells, roads and pipelines, industrialising the entire landscape.

We need all of us and all of our voices to come together to make sure the Queensland government implements the strong and lasting protections Queenslanders are calling for.

So, RSVP now and bring your banners, your placards, your friends and your voices on Wednesday the 29th of November at 10am to Rally outside Parliament House!

RSVP via Protect the Channel Country.
