Hundreds of people, mostly from Sydney's Burmese community, turned out at short notice in Martin Place on February 3 to protest against the military coup in Myanmar/Burma.

The protesters called on the international community not to recognise the coup regime and acknowledge the results of the November 2020 elections which the National League for Democracy won with 83% of the vote.

They also called for targeted sanctions on the generals and their families.
