Around 300 protesters, many still in their work uniforms, demonstrated outside Pauline Hanson’s fundraising event in Midland, Boorloo/Perth, on June 10, chanting that she was not welcome.

Alevine Magila from the WA Socialists, Greens MLA Sophie McNeil and Dr Mohammed Mustafa addressed the protest.

The anti-racist protesters held signs saying “Blame Billionaires, not migrants” and chanted “Migrants are welcome, racists are not”, and “Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land”.

Hanson’s supporters yelled back: “White lives matter” and “One Nation”. Hanson snuck into the venue through a back door. Many of her supporters tried to get in behind her but were turned away.

The anti-racist protesters stayed chanting outside the venue for another hour.
