Why

Hands Around the Historic Olive Grove is a free, family-friendly community fair hosted by the Protect Our Parklands Grassroots Movement (PPGM), celebrating a treasured living landscape, the historic Olive Grove in Park 16.

Join us for a day of storytelling, music, nature play, craft, creative activities, guided conversations and community connection as we explore how mature trees cool our city, support biodiversity, strengthen climate resilience and connect us to our shared history. Bring a picnic, enjoy a sweet treat from our cake stall, and bring along your homegrown produce to swap with others.

Together, we'll celebrate this remarkable place while raising awareness of the proposed removal of the historic Olive Grove for planned MotoGP infrastructure—and show that our Park Lands are worth protecting for generations to come.
