Why

On 17 February, Maribyrnong councillors will vote on whether to throw more security guards at entrenched inequality and hardship in Footscray.

New research from Footscray Community Response shows the security patrol program is making Footscray less safe, and discriminating against our friends and neighbours who are struggling due to mental distress, racism, homelessness and poverty.

We reject ‘securitisation’ and enforcement approaches; we want sustainable, effective strategies to address the root causes of suffering and inequality, not more punishment and surveillance.

Make sure you join us to hold councillors accountable at the Speak Out at 5:45pm on Tuesday 17 February at Footscray Town Hall. Speaker announcement coming soon! Bring placards!

For the latest updates, leaflets and posters check the FCR Speak-Out event.
