Why

Reading and Writing for Change by Amelia Walker explores the many ways in which creative writers take part in fighting injustices and pushing for positive change. To celebrate its release, this event features a series of readings by local writers whose works epitomise the spirit of reading and writing for change.

The program includes a Welcome to Kaurna Yerta by Kauwanu Ivan-Tiwu Copley, followed by readings from Steven Pappin, Juan Garrido Salgado, Kendrea Rhodes, Jazz Fechner-Lante, Tabitha Lean, Ian Gibbins, Chloe Cannell, Simon-Peter Telford, and Shefali Mathew. There will also be a limited open mic for attendees who wish to share their own writings on the theme. Light refreshments will be served, and copies of the book will be available for purchase.
