Why

Do you want a Nuclear Power Plant next door?

This is the question being asked in Port Augusta. Over 14,000 local residents will, if Dutton wins government live adjacent to a Nuclear Power Plant.

Register online.

Nuclear Power will result in increased cancer

Local residents will have an increased chance of cancer if they live near a Nuclear Power Plant with Thyroid Cancer likely to increase by 17% and Leukaemia 9%. A recent Canadian Study (2024 Environmental Health) has found dramatic increases in Thyroid Cancer for people living within 5 km of Nuclear Power Plants.

Four big reasons to oppose Nuclear Power:

Health – adjacent residents much higher chance of Thyroid Cancer and Leukaemia

Cost - estimated to be over $500 billion for 7 Nuclear Power Plants

Nuclear Waste - radioactive for 100,000 years!

Consultation – did anybody ask locals including First Nations people?

People in the Federal seat of Sturt – one of the most marginal in Australia can say no to Nuclear Power and support the people of Port Augusta.
