Why

We invite you to join us for a rally and candlelight march to the State Library in remembrance of all the Palestinian journalists killed by the Israeli occupation force.

Palestinian journalists and media workers have been facing unspeakable threats and dangers in the midst of the ongoing genocide perpetrated by lsrael.

140 Palestinian journalists have been killed since Oct 2023. Such brutal and unprecedented silencing of journalists is indicative of an authoritarian regime, not a democracy. It’s an admission of weakness.

Let’s light up the night in honour of all these brave journalists who have paid the ultimate price for wanting to share the truth with the world.

Speakers include:

* Mai Saif, Free Palestine Melbourne, who worked as a journalist on the West Bank

* Andra Jackson, former Herald Sun and The Age journalist

* Nasser Mashni, APAN

* Messages of support from victimised ABC journalist Antoinette Lattouf and others
