Activists will protest Labor’s cruel immigration policy of keeping refugees in limbo on November 18 at 4pm outside John Niland Scientia Building at UNSW Kensington where Immigration Minister Andrew Giles is due to speak.

The event is being organised by the Refugee Action Coalition.

Labor’s decision to deny permanent residency and to further harm the lives of the 2013 refugee cohort sickened by offshore detention and ongoing uncertainty is unacceptable.

Allowing refugees tortured by uncertainty for nine or more years is abuse, the activists say. Some 13000 refugees are still on temporary visas (SHEVs and TPVs) and they need an end to their ordeal.
