Why
Sydney, we'd love to see you come out in large numbers for the free launch of The Weight Of Witness — an important collection of essays by Australian and New Zealand medics who have volunteered in Gaza.
Come along to Marrickville's Addi Road early on Wed 23 September to join in their weekly, vibrant, free community dinner, then head into the hall from 6.30pm, where the book launch will run from 7–8pm. Moderated by Nour Haydar, the event will feature the book's editor and introducer Dr Bushra Othman and contributors Dr Ruth Mitchell and Khaled Shakhshir.

The Weight of Witness brings together the voices of Australian and New Zealand healthcare workers who have served in Gaza during the ongoing genocide, preserving frontline testimonies of courage, grief, humanity and resistance in the face of Israel’s devastation.
This book bears witness to the horror and trauma that the people of Gaza have endured and to the deliberate destruction of the healthcare system – and pays tribute to the enduring spirt of the Palestinian people.
