Why

Join Adelaide's biggest bike bus. Kidical Mass Adelaide is more than just a fun family ride. It’s a colourful, energetic call to action.

This year we're bringing the Bike Bus movement to Adelaide's inner west, giving local families the chance to experience the joy of riding together and imaging what everyday bike trips to school and around the neighbourhood could look like.

It's our fifth anniversary of joining thousands of children and their families worldwide in taking over their city streets to claim their right to ride safely.

Our event is brought to you by a passionate organising team and campaign partners Middle Ground Motherhood, Bike Adelaide and Parents for Climate.

Our Ride

We start and end our ride at Torrensville Primary School on the school oval, which you can enter via Hayward Ave.

The exact route will be confirmed closer to the date, with both short and long ride options to suit different abilities.

(Please note: balance bikes and walkers aren’t suitable for this ride.)

With volunteer marshals to help show the way, you can enjoy the ride knowing your family is supported every step – or pedal – of the way.

After The Ride

Stick around for a family-friendly picnic on the oval with:

  • A cargo bike display
  • Bike Bus sign-ups
  • BBQ and drinks to buy (thanks to the Torrensville Primary School Governing Council).

Tickets

Tickets are FREE.

Please book a ticket to help us plan a safe and fun ride for everyone. We have created different ticket categories to enable us to report on attendee numbers after the event.

What We're Asking For

We're calling on local decision-makers to:

  1. Enable and celebrate the joy of bike riding for children and families
  2. Create comfortable, convenient and connected networks for bike riding and active travel
  3. Support children's health, wellbeing and independence through active travel, including bike riding, walking and wheeling to school.

Our top three priorities for action include:

  • 30 km/h on local streets - Safer speeds on our local streets to protect children and support active travel
  • Safe streets to school - Prioritising safe, connected routes that enable children’s active transport - walking, riding or wheeling to school
  • E-Bikes for family transport - supporting families to transition from car trips to bikes.
