By December, Chakma plans to slash millions from our education. Our courses will be gutted, and our education quality will decrease. 400+ staff are set to be cut. Class sizes will increase, and there will be fewer people to actually make this uni run- from lecturers, to IT, to the admin staff who process our enrolments. Their working conditions are our learning conditions, and we need to defend both.
Our education matters more than the profit margins of UWA. We reject any proposal that seeks to cut staff and courses.
The UWA Senate is the body that, behind closed doors, makes decisions about our education. We need to show our outrage and protest their plans to reduce the quality of education at #ourUWA
