The next generation of young Black leaders marked this year’s National Indigenous Day of Commemoration (NAIDOC) at an event on July 12, organised by Blak Caucus, at the Red Rattler Theatre.
“NAIDOC: Takeover by Young Deadly Mob” featured a panel of Black youth organisers who discussed the challenges facing Aboriginal youth leaders in political and cultural movements.
It included poetry and story-telling from young artists, including William Jarrett, and a group of Aboriginal youth performing traditional dances and hip hop routines.
