GREEN LEFT TV: Sydney University rally and occupation against the cuts

1500 Sydney University students and staff rallied on April 4 to protest against management's move to sack 360 staff. Protesters marched through the university, culminating in 100 students occupying the Arts administration building in opposition to the attacks.

The planned job cuts - despite rising student numbers and millions being outlayed on new buildings - would mean worse conditions for students and remaining staff. The protest was supported by the NTEU, the Education Action Group, and the SRC.
