Why
Cavanbah (Byron Bay) is joining the Global Day for Gaza on Sunday 11th October at 10am at Apex Park (Main Beach). Following THREE harrowing years of Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people, and complete inaction from the Australian Government, we rally together to demand an end to Australia’s complicity.
Twelve countries including France, Canada and the UK have recently announced sanctions on products originating from illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. These settlements are illegal under international law and are the site of documented serious human rights violations.
Shamefully Penny Wong said Australia will not be placing sanctions despite acknowledging that Israeli settlers are “displacing families and beating, torturing, sexually assaulting and killing Palestinians.”
Australia is also still supplying F-35 parts which allow the IOF to drop bombs on children in tents in Gaza. It has also been revealed that two government-owned factories (one in Mulwala NSW and one in Benalla Victoria) have been manufacturing raw explosives used inside those bombs.
Symbolic diplomatic gestures will not stop Israel’s bombs, we need Sanctions Now! We need to Stop Arming Israel Now!
