Why
Please join us at Queens Gardens on Saturday 1 August at 1pm to protest the NDIS cuts for a second national day of action!
In the last 2.5 months, the disability community has been ceaseless in our campaigning - street actions, growing our networks, community education, participation in the senate hearing, thousands of submissions, thousands of calls and emails. We delayed the passing of the bill and won ourselves more time to fight - let's keep fighting!
We have until August 14 when the Bill returns to Senate for a vote to escalate our actions, we hope you join us or continue to agitate in anyway possible to you! We have to stop the cuts!
Accessibility information and march route will come very soon. Check back here or message directly with any specific questions.
Acknowledgement of Country: This event will take place on unceded Yuggera/Turrbal lands. The ongoing impacts of colonisation cause disproportionate levels of disability and illness amongst First Nations people. We recognise the struggle for First Nations justice is intimately linked with disability justice, and honour the staunch resistance to colonial violence for hundreds of years, continuing to this day.
Volunteer Call Out: If you are local and would like to get involved in organising, you are welcome and you are needed!
Fight Back: If you can’t attend protests, there are many ways to fight back against the cuts! You can find calling guides and email templates to tell politicians to scrap the NDIS Bill on our Linktree.
