19 July 2026, marks 13 years since then PM, Kevin Rudd, took Australia's treatment of people seeking asylum to a new low, ruling that anyone arriving by boat from July 2013 would never settle in Australia. The harm that has resulted from this ruling continues.

This forum will explore the ongoing impact, the role of Australia in undermining the right of asylum, alternative approaches and strategies for effective advocacy for change.
