This free online community forum is a chance to hear from experts and peak Queensland disability organisations about the NDIS bill, including:
- amendments secured so far
- impact on First Nations disabled people
- impact on disabled people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds
- how you can fight back
All are welcome to attend!
Auslan interpreters will be present, and the event will be recorded.
Register to attend. Registrations are capped at 90 people, with a wait list enabled (if we have lots of interest, we may be able to increase).
Presenters
Cassie Brophy, proud Yir Yoront woman from the Kowanyama region of Far North Queensland, and CEO from Mob4Mob, Queensland's peak body for First Nations people with disability.
Ange Boyd, Senior Project Officer from AMPARO Advocacy, a Queensland-based non-profit community organisation which provides independent individual and systemic advocacy on behalf of vulnerable people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds with disability.
Brianna Bell, Appeals Advocate from Queensland Advocacy for Inclusion, a disabled woman, lawyer, and NDIS participant from Meanjin/Magan-djin/Brisbane.
Also, Senator Jordon Steele-John, Federal Greens Spokesperson for Disability & Inclusion and the NDIS, will also take part and be available to answer questions from the community.
