Support the Santos TDU protesters in court

Extinction Rebellion South Australia action at TDU 2026

Why

In late January, four brave XRSA rebels were arrested after disrupting the Tour Down Under (TDU) Men’s Stage 5 race in Stirling, to protest fossil fuel company Santos’ sponsorship of the event.

Displaying messages “Love TDU, Dump Santos”, they delayed race preparations by sitting on the race track and linking arms, before being forcibly removed from the track by security.

Please join us out the front of the Magistrates Court on Friday 29 May at 11:15am, to stand in solidarity with these rebels, as they attend their second court hearing.

Wayne, one of the arrestees, said “Santos is cashing in on oil and gas operations that drive the climate emergency - intensifying bushfires, floods, and dangerous heatwaves that put lives at risk."

"I took action today to send the clear message that this polluting company should not be allowed to greenwash its image by attaching itself to a beloved community event.”

Wear a 'Dump Santos' t-shirt if you have one, and we'll have banners to hold. Thanks for your support!
