Why

We are proud to support Visions: Through the Eyes of a Palestinian Prisoner coming to the lands of the Gadigal people.

Curated by Damien Linnane, editor of Paper Chained, this exhibition features the works of Palestinian former prisoner Muhannad Al Azzeh.

While imprisoned in israeli torture prisons, Muhannad created drawings in secret, on scraps of paper smuggled from court hearings, pieced together and hidden at enormous risk.

“I also made some drawings which I smuggled out of the jail in a secret way… I can’t tell you how because this method still works and prisoners still use it now.”

Denied materials. Denied freedom. Denied humanity.
Yet he created.
