Why
It is Abigail Duggan's 22nd birthday, and just like last year they're raising money for a great cause, this time at the Grand Poobah. The Lutruwita Activist and Mutual Aid (LAMA) Collective is a group working to open a social centre for activists, artists, musicians and people who need a break from constantly being pressured to pay just to hang out in public. Increasingly, particularly in nipaluna, it is becoming harder and harder to find non-transactional spaces in public. Abby is teaming up with skrill to host a fundraising night for LAMA, featuring a diverse musical lineup from many performers, all of whom wish to show their support for such a great community-minded idea. Representatives from LAMA will be there on the night to answer anyone's questions.
That isn’t all! There will also be a "Free Market"! This is exactly what it sounds like, items that are free-to-take from table-tops and stands located in the Kissing Room. Anyone who is interested in activism, culture outside of Capital and simply being there for one another is encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there, we are very excited to put it all on.
