Why

Listen to The Insect Crisis podcast (or read the book) and come to our next gathering to talk about what we can do! March 5th at 1.30pm at the Fleurieu Environment Centre, free gathering and free afternoon tea provided.

Check out the podcast and other book club info.

Book review from our centre volunteer: The Insect Crisis (by Oliver Milman) should be compulsory reading in Australia. As our bushlands thin, rivers dry, and farms intensify, Milman shows how quietly and catastrophically insects are disappearing beneath our feet. These are the pollinators of our food, the recyclers of our soils, the glue in our ecosystems from backyards to the outback. This book is a call to action for Australians to rethink land clearing, pesticide use, urban sprawl and what we accept as “normal.” Read it, talk about it, plant differently, vote differently, because if insects collapse here, so does the country we love.

Free afternoon tea supplied.
