Why
Join us for our 7th Free Community Party at Barrambin/Victoria Park!
Come together once again to celebrate the space we love and the community we've built.
For the seventh time, we're gathering at Barrambin to enjoy good music, great company, and the natural beauty of this precious parkland.
Barrambin is sacred land for the First Nations people of the land now known as Brisbane.
It is a place of deep cultural and spiritual significance that has been cared for by Traditional Custodians for tens of thousands of years.
The state government is blatantly ignoring this Blak history and the ongoing First Nations connection to this land.
Standing with and honoring the First Nation people's relationship to Barrambin is fundamental to our fight. This is not just about saving a park—it's about respecting sacred ground and supporting First Nations sovereignty over Country.
Over our previous events, we've created a community of people who understand what makes this place worth protecting.
We've also been developing the Barrambin Wild Art Project, where people draw the area around Ibis Island, known as Yorks Hollow.
Each event adds new creative expressions to this evolving celebration of place.
This sacred space faces an existential threat: plans to bulldoze it for an Olympic stadium. This party is more than just a celebration—it's a reminder of what we stand to lose and why we must fight to save it.
Whether you're a regular or joining us for the first time, come experience why Barrambin matters. Bring your friends, bring your energy, and help us show that this park belongs to the community and to Country, not bulldozers.
