Why

We warmly invite you to our first Walk-In Cinema event of the year, happening next week Feb 27!

Curated by Adam Abdullatif this special evening also marks Adam’s return to present his new project, SYRIAN TRADERS.

The night is full, featuring an 8:00pm screening of Children of Shatila (1998), a powerful documentary by Palestinian filmmaker Mai Masri following two children growing up in the Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, who use imagination and creativity to navigate life shaped by war, poverty and displacement.

Alongside the film, Adam will present an interactive Central Desert video game installation, developed during his exchange with 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓼𝓹𝓮𝓮𝓭 𝓸𝓯 𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽, an artist exchange program between FELTspace (Tarntanya/Adelaide) and Watch This Space (Mparntwe/Alice Springs). This will be presented in our Pantry Space.

A small marketplace will also be set up in the main gallery space, offering T-shirts and a curated selection of artworks, with all funds raised going toward Eid Faraj's campaign in Gaza, support for Lebanon with money going to the Shatila Refugee Camp, and community mob initiatives in Mparntwe.

At sunset, food will be shared in observance of Ramadan, creating space to gather and break the fast together!

This is a freeeee event. Please BYO chair, swag, plate and blanket. It is family-friendly, dog-friendly, friendly to all - and a dry event.

We hope you can all join us!
