Why
The Kurdish-led Rojava revolution: feminist, Kurdish-led, multi-ethnic is facing a major assault by vicious Syrian government forces.
From 2012, Rojava was a multi-ethnic, feminist, workers co-operative, ecological beacon. An enclave surviving against ISIS, Turkish, Syrian forces - it's peace-loving people fought desperately against barbaric assaults and held onto their revolution.
Until January 2026, when the post-Assad Syrian government led a military take-over of Kurdish-held cities. Now Rojava, and the 350,000 people living within are in serious danger.

Speakers
Dr Hawzhin Azeez, Kurdish poet and academic, founder of The Middle Eastern Feminist, former director of Kurdish Centre of Studies. She worked closely with refugees and IDPs in Rojava while a member of the Kobane Reconstruction Board after its liberation from ISIS in 2015.
Baran Sogut, Federation of Democratic Kurdish Society (Australia). He visited Rojava, including the city of Kobane, last September.
Peter Boyle, Socialist Alliance national executive member, Green Left journalist and co-founder of Rojava Solidarity Sydney.
