Why
A host of acclaimed musicians and DJs, alongside a lineup of speakers, advocates and community activists, will descend on PICA in Port Melbourne, Naarm for A Gathering For Gaza – a one-day fundraising event announced today in solidarity with Palestinians and in support of vital relief efforts in Gaza amidst an ongoing genocide. Tickets are on sale at 12pm AEDT this Wednesday 10 December via Oztix.
100% of net profits from ticket sales, special event merchandise and bar sales at A Gathering For Gaza will be donated directly to Olive Kids, PANZMA, PARA and Médecins Sans Frontières Australia (Doctors Without Borders). Funds will be used to support their critical ongoing work on the ground in Gaza, providing essential services like medical aid, food and education, as well as supporting new arrivals from Palestine. Uniting under the mission of keeping the focus firmly on Palestine, A Gathering For Gaza features a lineup of internationally acclaimed artists including Julia Jacklin playing her first Australian show in almost three years and Angie McMahon in her only Australian show this year. Also performing are seven-time ARIA Award winner Genesis Owusu, Tarab Ensemble performing classic Arabic music with a twist, Miss Kaninna – who has just wrapped up a UK/EU tour with Kneecap, Naarm-based Palestinian soul singer, songwriter and producer YARA, Folk Bitch Trio fresh off their world tour, psych group Mildlife, DJ sets from Cut Copy, Harvey Sutherland, Merve and Milo Eastwood, and a special pre-recorded set from Moktar that will feature his signature fusion of club, techno, and traditional Arabic instrumentation.
Between performances, representatives from Palestinian, Jewish and global human rights-focused charity organisations, community groups and activists will share information, resources and updates on their ongoing work.

Getting there
Access to the venue: PICA is located at the corner of Woolboard and Thackray Roads in Port Melbourne. (Please follow the signs to the pedestrian gate and the Uber/Taxi drop off area). Do not walk on roads and be careful of traffic!
Rideshare/Taxi: The venue “PICA (Port Melbourne Industrial Centre for the Arts)” will appear as a destination in all ride share apps, or use the address 1 Thackray Road, Port Melbourne for the closest drop off to the entry.
Do not accept a taxi that won’t use the meter, if a driver refuses or tries to haggle a price, please report to security staff and they will be asked to leave the rank and reported to the taxi directorate.
Public transport: The 235 and 606 busses pass the venue with the closest stop being the corner of Salmon Street and WoolboardRoads. Please note the last service departs on a Sunday around 9pm. Please check the PTV app for the latest details.
