About the Event:
As violence and devastation escalate in Palestine, especially in Gaza, we stand at a pivotal moment. With over 32,000 casualties reported among Palestinian Christians and Muslims, and the continuance of raids and detentions by Israeli forces, the call for peace and justice has never been more urgent.
In light of the international outcry for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the long-standing issues of Palestinian disenfranchisement, Professor Qumsiyeh will share his perspectives on fostering peace, justice, and sustainability.
Artistic Expressions:
The evening will also celebrate hope, community, and solidarity through the artistic talents of:
- Egyptian-Australian artist Veronikka and her band
- Palestinian-Australian singer Zaid
- Spoken word poet Hannah Magar
Levantine-Inspired Grazing Table:
Indulge in an exquisite Levantine-inspired grazing table curated by Za’atar & Brunch, with BDS-compliant soft drinks, tea, and coffee served throughout the evening. Guests are invited to bring their own alcoholic beverages (refrigeration available).
Supporting a Cause:
Proceeds from the event will aid Palestinians relocating from Gaza to Australia and support the Palestinian Australian New Zealand Medical Association in providing essential healthcare services in Palestine.
