Why

On 6 August 1945, the US dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, killing 150,000 civilians. Rally with us at 12:30 pm to demand:

  • US and its allies pledge "No first use" of nuclear weapons
  • Australia sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons
  • No nuclear submarines
  • No nuclear industry.

Speakers:

  • Barbara Pocock, Australian Greens Senator for SA
  • Colin Mitchell, member ALP & International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN)
  • Robert Stainsby, No Nuclear Subs SA
  • Amanda Ruler, Medical Association for Prevention of War
  • Philippa Rowland, Religions for Peace Australia

Beehive Corner is at the corner of Rundle Mall and King William Street in Adelaide CBD.

Join us afterwards for lunch in Rundle Mall, and stay around for the Climate Action Now protest at 5:30pm.
