The Hunter Workers Women’s Committee continued Newcastle’s tradition of loud and proud street marches with its International Women’s Day on March 6.

Two hundred unionists, gender and queer activists marched through Hamilton singing “What shall we do with the patriarchy? What shall we do with the patriarchy? Let’s do away with the whole Malarkey, smash the patriarchy!”

Speakers also addressed the many inequalities that Indigenous and other working class women face, including homelessness and insecure work.
