Pro-Palestine protesters rallied outside the office of Danish shipping and logistics company, Maersk, on June 12, joining the global “Mask off Maersk” campaign to demand the corporation stop transporting weapons’ parts to Israel.

The protest was organised by Unionists for Palestine and the Free Palestine Coalition.

Maersk plays a significant role in the global arms supply chain, including shipping components of the F-35 jets crucial to Israel’s military occupation of Palestinian land and the genocide of Palestinian people.

In light of the protest, the company closed its office early, and workers were sent home.

Speakers included Tasnim Sammak, Palestinian activist and organiser; Omar Hassan from Victorian Socialists; Sue Bolton, Socialist Alliance Merri-Bek councillor; Kevin Bracken, a former Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) secretary and union activist; and Palestinian activist Amin Abbas Jr.
