Members of the Chilean community and supporters held a protest in Fremantle on November 16 against the Chilean government's repression of recent protests.

Protests in Chile have engulfed the country to demand a new constitution. The current constitution dates back to General Augusto Pinochet's military dictatorship.

In response, President Sebastian Pinera has unleashed a wave of brutal repression that has left more than 20 dead, and led many to draw comparisons with the dictatorship era.

The vigil was organised by Latinos for Democracy WA.
