Indigenous owners say no to nuke dump

Issue

CANBERRA — A delegation from the Northern Territory visited federal politicians in Canberra on June 21-22 to express their opposition to a proposed radioactive waste dump mooted for the NT. The delegation consisted of Mt Everard traditional owner Kath Martin, Arrernte campaigner Margie Lynch and Marlene Bennett, traditional owner for Muckaty Station (north of Tennant Creek). Australian Conservation Foundation anti-nuclear campaigner Leanne Minshull and Nat Wasley from the Arid Lands Environment Centre's Beyond Nuclear Initiative accompanied the three women.
