INDIA: Campaign against globalisation

Issue

Various left forces and progressive activists in India are planning to launch a National Campaign Against Globalisation in New Delhi on March 21-23.

An appeal for attendance at a conference, to be held over the three days to coincide the launch, says: "The globalization offensive is all-pervasive and well orchestrated. To meet it effectively and defeat it decisively, the vigorous but scattered struggles, intensive but sporadic protests need to acquire a more unified expression... Struggles against particular impacts of globalization need to coalesce into a broader and coordinated confrontation with the process of globalization itself."

Anti-globalisation activists such as Walden Bello and Vandana Shiva are among the key speakers and panelists. For a full text of the appeal and details of the conference, visit <http://www.cpiml.org>.
