Come to a Red Cinema screening of Pride on Friday August 28 at 6pm at the Activist Centre, 74b Wickham St, Fortitude Valley with special guest, Bob Carnegie, Queensland secretary of the Maritime Union of Australia.

The film portrays the inspirational true story of the rainbow community’s solidarity with the miners’ strike in Britain under Margaret Thatcher.

MELBOURNE

The Turkish regime is restarting the ruinous civil war on the Kurds. Join this rally to demand an end to Turkey’s war on the Kurds and to restart the peace process on Saturday August 29 at 11am at Federation Square in the CBD. Organised by Australians for Kurdistan.

PARRAMATTA

With events moving fast in Greece, this forum, “Greece — Prospects for the fight against austerity” will be an interesting one.
