Green Left banned

By Chris Spindler

ADELAIDE — Supporters of Green Left Weekly are campaigning for the paper to be distributed at the Central Markets.

Market management has repeatedly stopped people selling the paper despite its popularity with shoppers, many of whom get their weekly copy at the market. No reason has been given. Adelaide City Council owns the markets.

Green Left has attempted to cooperate by designating selling times and asking to discuss the matter with the market management.

Support can be shown by signing a petition, writing to the market management, the mayor and town clerk care of Adelaide City Council, and by buying Green Left Weekly. Copies of the petition and are available from the Resistance Bookshop, 34 Hindley St, City, or at the markets on Saturday mornings.
