Unveiling a bounty of musical treasures of North African Arab countries, ‘Carthage Sands’ is a 2-hour concert (with interval) showcasing an array of Arabic music styles, and expanding artistic fusion with Australian and migrant musicians as a response to tumultuous times.

Inspired by their first magical collaboration in May, Tarab Ensemble will once again be proudly featuring The Victorian Trade Union Choir, which has 24 members, who will sing five songs, famous in the Arab world, in both Arabic and English.

Another special element of this concert will be Tarab’s continuing collaboration with members of the Turkish Sufi group (Mevlevi), and a sublime Sufi dancer.

Through this tapestry of Arab musical styles, which includes: Andalusi Muwashah, Syrian Qudoud, 20th Century Classics, and Longa, Tarab Ensemble’s performances are testament to the transformative power of music in illuminating richness and diversity, while fostering unity and empathy.
