CISLAC campaigns against US aid

As US interference in Colombia has increased, now including a massive aid package to the Colombian military, Committees In Solidarity with Latin America and the Caribbean (CISLAC) made the decision at its June national consultation to step up its work in solidarity with Colombia.

As well as regularly covering the issue through Venceremos and in Green Left, CISLAC will be producing a special four-page issue of Venceremos on Colombia and the campaign against US interference. A CISLAC documentary video about the situation in Colombia, featuring interviews with some of the leaders of the guerilla movement, is near completion and will be launched in the next few months.

Another element of the CISLAC campaign will be collecting signatures on a petition opposing the US military aid package. CISLAC also has available a new book, FARC-EP Historical Outline, which gives a history of the guerilla movement and the various attempts at peace negotiations over the last two decades. It is available from your local CISLAC committee or Resistance Bookshops.
