This 3 hour workshop will go over police powers, advocacy and tips and tricks for community workers who support clients through police interactions.

The workshop will be run in three parts -
Part one: Know your legal rights when dealing with police as a community worker:
- addresses legal knowledge on police powers and your rights as a community worker. This session is customised for community and front line workers.
Part two: Individual worker advocacy:
- provides guidance on how to use the legal framework and advocacy skills to best advocate on behalf of your clients on the ground.
Part three: Building organisational clout and influence for your clients:
- how teams and organisations can build and use clout to platform their work, better advocate for clients at a systems level, and create safer interactions with police.
The workshop will include a break half way and snacks will be provided.
