'Building Union Power for Quality Public Services in Pacific Island Countries' is a joint initiative between Public Services International (PSI) and Education International (EI), supported by the Partnerships for Decent Work program through Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA and DFAT.
The program aims to strengthen the capacity of public sector unions in Pacific Island Countries to organize workers, bargain effectively, and advocate for quality education and public services for all.
A core component of the project is a two-year organising, training, and mentoring program designed to build the capacity of union organisers. The project is supported by Kelera Rokomatanimoce who is the Fijian Teachers Association Young Worker Convener.
The 5 union organisers from Fiji, PNG, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu are hosted by sister unions in Sydney for the week to gain hands on experience of Australian unions approaches to building power and organising workers.
Join us at PSA House to meet and celebrate our comrades from across the South Pacific and be part of practical solidarity in action!
Entry is free, but RSVPs are essential. Drinks and light refreshments will be provided.
