Why

Our Campaigns Team seeks to build pressure for urgent action on the poverty and the housing crises through a wide range of tactics, including protests, forums, community outreach, mutual aid, media engagement, lobbying, policy and research work, and other tools.

Our Campaigns Team is planning for the next 6-12 months. At our first planning meeting, we decided that our Top 3 Campaigns Issues would be:

  • Raising the rate of Centrelink payments
  • Building more public housing
  • Tackling empty homes

(We will also be attention to what national campaigns Centrelink's "Mutual Obligations", and Partner Income Tests.)

And for our Top 3 Team Goals, we picked:

  • Growing our membership, and getting more members active
  • More collaborating with other activist groups, and marginalised communities
  • Building our Policy and Research Team

Join our second special planning meeting on Monday July 13, 6:30pm, on Zoom, as we continue to plan our events and projects, for another year of fighting for a fairer, kinder world; all welcome!!
