- Voices for Woogaroo: Open Letter Handover
- Meet: Alice Street entrance, Brisbane City Botanic Gardens
- Date: Tuesday 23 June
- Time: 12:00pm
Woogaroo Forest is 450 hectares of irreplaceable remnant bushland and is home to over 1000 species including endangered koalas, platypus, powerful owls, vulnerable gliders and critically endangered lowland rainforest. It provides an important connection between people and nature in one of South East Queensland's fastest-growing regions.
This is a peaceful community event intended to demonstrate the strong support for protecting the forest and ensuring its environmental values are conserved for future generations.
From the meeting point, participants will walk together to Minister Murray Watt's office around the corner and peacefully gather outside the building. A delegation of three representatives will formally deliver the Expert Open Letter and petition.
Everyone is welcome. Numbers count so bring your tribe and let your voices be heard.
