Save the date: Weekend of Action, 18th & 19th April 2026 with some activities through the week leading up.
We are also fundraising for a legal defence and we need your help! This is a legal defence against the new hate speech laws in Queensland. Everyone deserves to speak out for Palestine. Freedom of speech is fundamental to a free and open society.
These new laws are a direct attack on our peaceful movement. The QLD government is attempting to silence our speech on Palestine. They are trying to intimidate and shift the focus from their complicity in the genocide in Gaza.
We will not fall for attempts to silence our movement when Palestinians are being starved to death, exterminated and ethnically cleansed. For as long as there is genocide, apartheid and occupation, we will continue to pressure the State and Federal government to end their political and material support for apartheid Israel.
To continue our campaign we need your support. Donate what you can and it will be put towards legal defence, so we can continue to speak out for Palestine.
Help out if you can, and make sure you keep the weekend 18th-19th April free!

We want to send the message, online and on the streets, these are not our laws!
Tell your friends to do it too!
3. Support the legal challenge
JFP is supporting legal and constitutional action against these laws.
Donate to Justice for Palestine Legal Defence
4. Send the email
It takes 2 minutes to send an email straight to your MP
Let Crisafulli and your local MP know that when our government passes laws to protect a foreign state from criticism - a state the UN declares is committing genocide - it's an attack on all of us.
Not in our name. Not with our laws.
5. Your Org
This one is big. Ask your union, organisation or community group to do two things:
- Sign the coalition statement
- Make a public post of support
One org post reaches thousands.
6. Video
Make a video. 30-60 seconds on your phone. Rough and real beats polished.
- Say why you care
- Mention the t-shirt arrest
- Give one action
- Tag @justiceforpalestine.magandjin
Personal videos move people.
7. Call
Call your MP. 5 minutes for high impact!
"Hi, I'm [Name] from [Suburb]. Do you support the new laws that lead to a teenager being arrested for wearing a t-shirt? As my representative I want you to publicly oppose these laws and call to drop the charges."
Silence is position. MPs actions will be remembered.
8. Amplify
This matter more than you think.
- Share JFP posts
- Add your own voice - don't just repost
- Send to group chats
- Tag MPs and media
- Comment and Like to increase reach
Visibility builds pressure. Pressure creates change.
9. Talk
Talk to people. Speak from the heart.
Start with simple talking points:
- People have already been arrested
- These laws criminalise speech
- This is about democratic rights
- This is about the right to stand against genocide
Then invite them to take one step:
- Send an email
- Come to an event
These laws were designed to silence people. Instead they strengthened our movement. Pick 1 action - Send it to 3 people. That's how this grows.
