Guess My Accent (GMA) and the Migrant Work Rights Hub Tasmania are co-hosting an interactive information session for people working in Tasmania on temporary visas (including student, skilled and sponsored, Working Holiday, and other types of temporary visas).
This session will cover:
Workplace rights in Australia
How to identify workplace exploitation (underpayment, unsafe work, unfair treatment, harassment)
How to safely report exploitation
The recent Migration Act changes that introduced new protections for migrant
workers who have experienced exploitation
Where to get free and confidential support in Tasmania
The session will include a presentation followed by a fun and interactive workplace rights quiz.
This is a free event designed to build awareness, and knowledge of workplace rights
in a safe and welcoming environment.
