Why
Across New South Wales, Lutruwita / Tasmania and Queensland, native forests continue to be logged under government licences, pushing endangered wildlife to the brink of extinction and worsening the climate crisis.
In September 2025, logging finally ended in the proposed Great Koala National Park (GKNP). But despite this, koalas are still at risk.
The NSW government’s newly released plan for the park falls far short of creating a world-class conservation reserve. Critical koala strongholds in Pine Creek, Orara West and Tuckers Nob State Forest have been excluded from the park’s boundaries.
At the same time, the forest homes of endangered koalas and Greater Gliders continue to be razed to the ground elsewhere across the state.
Enough!
Visit the March For Forests Bellingen hub for the latest updates, resources including posters, or to volunteer.
Over the past two years, we've rallied and marched together for forests, with almost 30,000 people joining us across the four nationwide events.
Let’s keep the momentum growing and make this our biggest, boldest show of people power yet.
